More than 2,000 baby bath seats are facing a recall over a hazard that federal regulators say could potentially cause injury or death to children.
About 2,140 ONTHEWEI-branded baby bath seats are affected by the recall, posing a risk of “serious injury or death due to drowning,” the Consumer Product Safety Commission said in a notice last week.
“The recalled bath seats violate the mandatory standard for infant bath seats because they are unstable and can tip over while in use, posing a risk of serious injury or death due to drowning,” the notice reads.

The affected items were sold on Amazon in April for between $40 and $50.
The bath seats were sold in gray, pink, blue and mist green colors. They have detachable restraint arms and suction cups on the underside.
“Model No: MY002” and “Date of manufacturer: 2026/1/10” are printed on a label located on the back of the item.
No injuries or deaths have been reported thus far in connection with the recall.
Consumers are urged to stop using the recalled bath seats immediately and contact ONTHEWEI for a full refund.

“Consumers will be asked to destroy the bath seat by writing in permanent marker ‘RECALLED’ on the front of the bath seat, disassembling it by removing the back rest and arm restraints and cutting the three suction cups on the seat’s underside” and sending a photo of the destroyed bath seat showing the marked product to the company, the recall notice says.
ONTHEWEI and Amazon did not immediately respond to FOX Business’ requests for comment.
